Way of A Wayfarer Review (old)

Three years after his LP “The Beauty Created”, Jesse Boykins III recently released his EP “Way of a Wayfarer”. Although the EP only has six songs and is just 21 minutes, the Chicago-born artist doesn’t disappoint, as he adds a new upbeat flavor to his neo-soul style.

Each song showcases beautiful falsettos and harmonies that ease out of his mouth and flow throughout your entire body, somewhat like a drug. That’s probably he titled his first EP “Dopeamine: My Life On My Back”. But unlike some of his previous work, these new tracks use faster paced beats that kind of jump on the dance music bandwagon taking over today’s music scene, but without losing an inch of Boykins’ soul vibe. If you’ve ever been to All City Chess Club’s website, you’ve probably seen the cartoon drawings of the musicians mentioned. Those images are just a few examples of what Princess Spencer, a 21 year old artist and graphic designer, can do. The Virginia Commonwealth University student is known for her creativity, as well as her artwork she has dedicated to numerous musicians, many of which are hip hop artists.
